The bank cannot provide finance to residents of Portugal for the purchase of a property in Portugal. The bank can continue the loan if a borrower subsequently becomes a resident of Portugal but after that we may not increase the loan. A Provisional Mortgage is to be registered to protect the interest of the Bank and this will require the participation of the borrower, the seller of the property and any existing mortgagee. Customer is to inform the seller of this requirement. Financing will not be available to corporate/trust structures as well as to those cases where the borrower(s) of the loan and the owner(s) of the property are not the same person(s). Bank's consent is required for entering into letting or tenancy agreements for terms exceeding one year.
